Sayings of the Messenger احادیثِ رسول اللہ ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ اليَشْكُرِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي حَائِطٍ فَلاَ يَبِيعُ نَصِيبَهُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ حَتَّى يَعْرِضَهُ عَلَى شَرِيكِهِ.

Narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah (RA) that Allah's Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever has a partner in a garden, then he should not sell his share in that until he proposes that to his partner."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنِ الْمُحَاقَلَةِ، وَالمُزَابَنَةِ، وَالمُخَابَرَةِ، وَالمُعَاوَمَةِ، وَرَخَّصَ فِي العَرَايَا.

Narrated from Jabir (RA) that the Prophet ﷺ disallowed Al-Muhaqalah, Al-Muzabanah, Al-Mukhabarah, and Al-Mu'awamah, and he allowed it in the case of Al-'Araya.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الحَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، وَثَابِتٌ، وَحُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: غَلاَ السِّعْرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، سَعِّرْ لَنَا، فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْمُسَعِّرُ، القَابِضُ، البَاسِطُ، الرَّزَّاقُ، وَإِنِّي لأَرْجُو أَنْ أَلْقَى رَبِّي وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ يَطْلُبُنِي بِمَظْلِمَةٍ فِي دَمٍ وَلاَ مَالٍ.

Anas (RA) said: "Prices increased during the time of Allah’s Apostle ﷺ, so they said: 'O Messenger of Allah! ﷺ Do fix prices for us!' So, he said: 'Indeed Allah is the One Who fixes prices, Who withholds, Who bestows and Who gives provision. And I am hopeful that I meet my Lord and none of you are seeking (recompense from) me for an injustice involving blood or wealth.'"

Narrated Abu Hurairah (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ passed by a stack of grain. So, he entered his hand in it and felt dampness. He said: 'O owner of the food! What is this?' He replied: 'It was affected by rain O Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' He said: 'Why don’t you place put it on top of the food so the people can see it?' Then he said: 'He who cheats is not one of us.'"

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: اسْتَقْرَضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سِنًّا، فَأَعْطَاهُ سِنًّا خَيْرًا مِنْ سِنِّهِ، وَقَالَ: خِيَارُكُمْ أَحَاسِنُكُمْ قَضَاءً.

Narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ borrowed a camel of a particular age. He returned to him (owner of camel) a better camel than the one he was given. He said: 'The best among you are those who are the best in repaying.'"

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً تَقَاضَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَغْلَظَ لَهُ، فَهَمَّ بِهِ أَصْحَابُهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: دَعُوهُ، فَإِنَّ لِصَاحِبِ الحَقِّ مَقَالاً، ثُمَّ قَالَ: اشْتَرُوا لَهُ بَعِيرًا، فَأَعْطُوهُ إِيَّاهُ، فَطَلَبُوهُ، فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا إِلاَّ سِنَّا أَفْضَلَ مِنْ سِنِّهِ، فَقَالَ: اشْتَرُوهُ، فَأَعْطُوهُ إِيَّاهُ، فَإِنَّ خَيْرَكُمْ أَحْسَنُكُمْ قَضَاءً.

Narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that a man asked for repayment of his loan from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and behaved in a rude manner. So, his Companions intended to harm him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Leave him alone, for indeed the owner of the right may speak.' Then he said: 'Buy a camel for him and give it to him.' So, they searched out, but they did not find a camel but of a better ager than his camel. So, he said: 'Buy it and give it to him. For indeed, the best among you are those who are best in repaying.'"

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: اسْتَسْلَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ رَجُلٍ بَكْرًا، فَجَاءَتْهُ إِبِلٌ مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ، قَالَ أَبُو رَافِعٍ: فَأَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ أَقْضِيَ الرَّجُلَ بَكْرَهُ، فَقُلْتُ: لاَ أَجِدُ فِي الإِبِلِ إِلاَّ جَمَلاً خِيَارًا رَبَاعِيًا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَعْطِهِ إِيَّاهُ، فَإِنَّ خِيَارَ النَّاسِ أَحْسَنُهُمْ قَضَاءً.

Abu Rafi (RA), the freed slave of the Apostle of Allah ﷺ narrated that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ borrowed a young camel. Then he received some camels from the charity." Abu Rafi' said: "So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told me to pay the man back for his camel. I said: 'I did not find among the camels but a superior selection of Raba'. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Give it to him, for indeed the best among you are those who are best in repaying.'"

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الرَّازِيُّ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ سَمْحَ البَيْعِ، سَمْحَ الشِّرَاءِ، سَمْحَ القَضَاءِ.

Narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "Indeed Allah loves politeness while selling, politeness while buying, and politeness while repaying."

حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّاسٌ الدُّورِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لِرَجُلٍ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ، كَانَ سَهْلاً إِذَا بَاعَ، سَهْلاً إِذَا اشْتَرَى، سَهْلاً إِذَا اقْتَضَى.

Narrated from Jabir (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "Allah forgave a man who lived before you because he was flexible in selling, flexible in buying, and flexible in repaying."

حَدَّثَنَا الحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الخَلاَّلُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَارِمٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ العَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ خُصَيْفَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: إِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ مَنْ يَبِيعُ أَوْ يَبْتَاعُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَقُولُوا: لاَ أَرْبَحَ اللَّهُ تِجَارَتَكَ، وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ مَنْ يَنْشُدُ فِيهِ ضَالَّةً، فَقُولُوا: لاَ رَدَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ.

Narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "When you see someone selling or buying in the Masjid then say: 'May Allah not make your business profitable.' And when you see someone announcing about something lost then say: 'May Allah never return it to you.'"
