Chapter No: 1

Narrated from Ibn Umar that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "Every intoxicant is Khamr, and every intoxicant is prohibited. He who drinks Khamr in this world, and dies with its addiction, he will not drink it in the Hereafter.


Narrated from Abdullah bin Umar (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "He who drinks Khamr, his Salah is not accepted for forty days. If he repents, then Allah will accept his repentance. If he returns to it, then Allah will not accept his Salah for forty days. If he repents, then Allah will accept his repentance. If he returns to it, then Allah will not accept his Salah for forty days. If he repents, then Allah will accept his repentance. If he returns to it a fourth time, Allah will not accept his Salah for forty days, and if he were to repent, Allah would not accept his repentance, and he will be given to drink from the river of Al-Khabal." They asked: "O Aby 'Abdur-Rahman! What is the river of Al-Khabal?" He said: "A river of the pus from the inhabitants of the Fire."

Chapter No: 2

Narrated from Aishah (RA) that the Prophet ﷺ was asked regarding Bit' (wine from honey) so he said: "All drinks that intoxicate are prohibited."


Narrated from Ibn Umar (RA) that the Prophet ﷺ said "Every intoxicant is prohibited."

Chapter No: 3

Narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "If a large quantity of anything intoxicates then a small quantity of it is also prohibited."


Narrated from Aishah (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "Every intoxicant is prohibited. If a Faraq (some quantity) of it intoxicates, then a handful of it is prohibited."

Chapter No: 4

Sulaiman At-Taimi narrated from Tawus, that a man came to Ibn Umar (RA) and asked: "Did Allah’s Apostle ﷺ forbid Nabidh prepared in earthenware vessels?" He said: "Yes" So Tawus said: "I heard that from him, by Allah."

Chapter No: 5

Zadhan said: "I asked Ibn Umar (RA) about the containers prohibited by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him to inform us in your language and explain it to us in our language. So, he said: ‘Allah’s Apostle prohibited Al-Hantamah, and it is an earthenware container, and he prohibited Ad-Dubba', and it is gourd, and he prohibited An-Naqir, and it is the trunk of a date-palm that is hollowed out or carved, and he prohibited Al-Muzaffat, and it is coated with pitch. And he ordered that Nabidh be prepared in water-skins.’"

Chapter No: 6

Sulaiman bin Buraidah narrated from his father, that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "I had indeed forbidden you from using containers, but the container does not make anything lawful or unlawful, rather every intoxicant is unlawful."


Narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ disallowed using (certain) containers. So the Ansar complained about that to him. They said: 'We will have no vessels!' so he said: ‘in that case I don’t prohibit.'"

Chapter No: 7

Aishah (RA) said: “We used to make Nabidh for the Apostle of Allah ﷺ in a water-skin which was tied up at the top and it had a small hole. If we would make Nabidh in it during the morning, he would drink it in the evening. And if we would make Nabidh in it during the evening he would drink it in the morning."

Chapter No: 8

Narrated from An-Nu'man bin Bashir (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "Indeed Khamr is made from wheat, Khamr is made from barely, Khamr is made from dates, Khamr is made from rasins, and Khamr is made from honey."


Narrated from Umar (RA): "Indeed Khamr is made from wheat." And he mentioned this Hadith.


Narrated from Umar bin Al-Khattab (RA): "Indeed Khamr is made from wheat."


Narrated from Abu Kathir As-Suhaimi that he heard Abu Hurairah (RA) saying that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "Khamr is made from these two trees (plants): The date palm and the grape (vine)."

Chapter No: 9

Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ disallowed making Nabidh from unripe dates and fresh dates together.


Narrated from Abu Saeed (RA) that the Prophet ﷺ disallowed mixing of unripe dates and fresh dates, and mixing of raisins and dates (for making Nabidh), and he prohibited from making Nabidh in the jars."

Chapter No: 10

Shu'bah bin Al-Hakam said: "I heard Ibn Abi Laila narrating that Hudhaifah (RA) asked for water, so someone brought it for him in a silver vessel. He threw it away, and said: 'I have indeed prohibited him, but he refused to stop! Indeed Allah’s Apostle ﷺ prohibited drinking from silver and gold vessels, and from wearing silk and Dibaj, and he ﷺ said: "If is for them (disbelievers) in this world, and for you in the Hereafter."
