Chapter No: 1

Narrated from Qatadah bin An-Nu'man (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "When Allah loves a slave, He prevents him from the world, just as one of you prevents his patient from water."


Umm Al-Mundhir (RA) said: "Allah’s Apostle ﷺ came to me, while Ali (RA) was with him, and we had a bunch of unripe dates hanging." She said: "Allah’s Apostle ﷺ started eating, and Ali (RA) ate with him. So, Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said to Ali (RA): 'Stop, stop, you just recovered.' So, Ali sat and the Prophet ﷺ ate." She said: "I made some chard and barley for them, so the Prophet ﷺ said: 'O Ali! Eat from this, for indeed it will be more suitable for you."

Chapter No: 2

Usamah bin Sharik (RA) said: "Some Bedouins asked: 'O Apostle of Allah ﷺ shall we not take medicine?' He said: 'Yes, O worshipers of Allah! Use remedies because indeed Allah did not placed a disease but He placed a cure for it' - or - 'a remedy, except for one disease.' They asked: 'O Apostle of Allah ﷺ ! What is it?' He said: 'Old age.'"

Chapter No: 3

Narrated from Aishah (RA) that whenever one of the wives of Allah’s Apostle ﷺ became ill, he would order to prepare some broth (Hisa). Then he would tell them to take some of the broth. And he used to say: “It enlivens the heart of the grieved and cleans the heart of the sick just as one of you removes dirt from her face with water."

Chapter No: 4

Narrated from Uqbah bin Amir Al-Juhani (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "Do not force your sick to eat, for indeed Allah, Blessed and Most High provides them food and drink."

Chapter No: 5

Narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "Use this black seed (black cumin). For indeed it contains a cure for every disease except As-Sam" And As-Sam is death.

Chapter No: 6

Anas (RA) narrated that some people from Urainah came to Al-Madinah, but the climate did not suit them. So, Allah’s Apostle ﷺ sent them to some camels from charity. He told them: "Drink from their milk and Urine".

Chapter No: 7

Narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "Whoever kills himself with (something made of) iron, he will come on the Day of Judgment with his iron in his hand, continually stabbing himself in his stomach with it, in the fire of Hell, dwelling in that state forever. And whoever kills himself with poison, will have his poison in his hand, to continually take it in the Hell Fire, dwelling in that state forever."


Narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "Whoever kills himself with (something made of) iron, will have his iron in his hand, continually stabbing himself in his stomach with it, in the Hell fire dwelling in that state forever. And whoever kills himself with poison, will have his poison in his hand, to continually take it in the Hell Fire, dwelling in that state forever. And whoever throws himself from a mountain to kill himself, then he will be continually throwing himself in the Hell Fire, dwelling in that state forever"


Narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ prohibited from evil medicines.

Chapter No: 8

Alqamah bin Wa'il narrated from his father, that he witnessed the Prophet ﷺ when he was asked by Suwaid bin Tariq -or Tariq bin Suwaid- about Khamr, and he disallowed it. So he said: "We use it as a medicine." So Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "It is certainly not a medicine; rather, it is a disease."

Chapter No: 9

Narrated from Ibn Abbas (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said:"Indeed the best medicine with which you treat is As-Sa'ut, Al-Ladud, cupping and purgatives.”.' So when Allah’s Apostle ﷺ was suffering his companions treated him with Al-Ladud, and when they were finished he said: 'Treat them with Al-Ladud.' So, all of them except Al-Abbas (RA) were treated with Al-Ladud."


Narrated from Ibn Abbas (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "Indeed the best medicine with which you treat is As-Sa'ut, Al-Ladud, cupping and purgatives.” And the best of what you use for Kuhl is Ithmid, for it clears the vision and grows the hair (eye-lashes)." And he said:" Allah’s Apostle ﷺ had a Kuhl holder with which he would apply Kuhl before sleeping three in each eye."

Chapter No: 10

Narrated from Imran bin Husain (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ disallowed cauterization. He said: "We were tested (with severe medical condition) so we cauterized, but we did not have good results, nor was it successful for us."
