Chapter No: 1

Bahz bin Hakim narrated from his father, from his grandfather who said: "I asked: 'O Apostle of Allah! ﷺto whom I shall be most dutiful?' He replied: 'Your mother.'" He (narrator) said: "I asked: 'Then who?' He replied: 'Your mother.'" He (narrator) said: "I asked: 'Then who?' He replied: 'Your mother.'" He (narrator) said: "I said: 'Then who?' He replied: 'Then your father, then the nearest relatives, then the nearest relatives.'"

Chapter No: 2

Ibn Mas'ud (RA) said: "I asked Allah’s Apostle: 'O Apostle of Allah! ﷺWhich deed is the most virtuous?' He replied: 'Salah during its appropriate time.' I asked: 'Then what, O Apostle of Allahﷺ?' He replied: 'Being dutiful to one's parents.' I asked: 'Then what, O Apostle of Allahﷺ?' He replied: 'Jihad in the cause of Allah.' Then the Apostle of Allah ﷺwas silent, and if I had asked him more, he would have told me more.'"

Chapter No: 3

Narrated from Abdullah bin Amr (RA) that the Prophet ﷺsaid: "The pleasure of the Lord lies in the pleasure of the father, and the Lord's anger is in the father’s anger."


Narrated from Abu Ad Darda (RA) that a man came and said : "I have a wife whom my mother has ordered me to divorce." So Abu Ad-Darda said: " I heard Allah’s Apostle ﷺsaying: 'The father is the central door to Paradise. So, if you like demolish this door or protect it.’”

Chapter No: 4

'Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Bakrah narrated from his father who said that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: 'Shall I not inform you of the greatest of the major sins?' they said: 'Of course! O Apostle of Allah! ﷺ' He said: 'To associate partners with Allah, and disobeying one's parents.'" He (narrator) said : " He then sat up, though he was reclining. He said: 'and false testimony, or false speech.' And Allah’s Apostle ﷺdid not cease to say that till they hoped that he may stop.'"


Narrated from Abdullah bin Amr (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺsaid: "It is among the greatest of sins that a man should curse his parents." They asked: "O Apostle of Allah! ﷺDoes a man (can) curse his parents?" He replied: "Yes. He verbally abuses the father of another man, who in turn, verbally abuses his father, and he (retaliates and) curses his mother, so he curses his mother."

Chapter No: 5

Ibn Umar (RA) narrated that the Prophet ﷺsaid: "Among the most dutiful of deeds is that a man nurture relations with the people his father was friends with."

Chapter No: 6

Narrated from Al-Bara' bin Azib (RA) that the Prophet ﷺsaid: "The status of maternal aunt is same as that of the mother."



Chapter No: 7

Narrated from Abu Harairah (RA) that the Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "There is no doubt about the acceptance of three supplications; the supplication of the oppressed, the supplication of the traveler, and the supplication of his father against his son."

Chapter No: 8

Narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "A son cannot give the rights of his father, unless he finds him as a slave then he purchases him to set him free."

Chapter No: 9

Abu Salamah said:" Abu[Ar-Raddad] Al-Laithi complained(of an illness). So 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf (RA) visited him. He (narrator) said: 'The best of you, and the most apt to maintain good relations, as far as I know, is Abu Muhammad ('Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf). So 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf' said: 'I heard the Apostle of Allah ﷺ saying: "Allah, Most Blessed and Most High, said: 'I am Allah, and I am Ar-Rahman. I created the Rahim(womb) and named it after My Name. So whoever keeps good relations with it, I keep good relation with him, and whoever severs it, I am finished with him.'"

Chapter No: 10

Narrated from Abdullah bin Amr (RA) that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Maintainer of the ties of kinship is not the one who reciprocates a kind gesture. But connecting the ties of kinship is when his ties to the womb are severed and he connects it."


Muhammad bin Jubair bin Mut'im narrated from his father, that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "The one who severs ties will not enter Paradise." Ibn Abi 'Umar said: "Sufyan said: 'Meaning: Ties of the womb."
