Narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ came out to us while we were debating about Al-Qadar (divine destiny). He became angry as much that his face became red, as if a pomegranate seed had been cracked open on his cheeks. He asked: 'Is this what you have been commanded to do?' - or: 'Is this with which I have been sent to you? The people before you were only destroyed when they disputed about this matter. I command you to not to debate about it.'".

Then Allah sends the angel to him to blow the soul into him, and he is commanded to write four (things): To write his sustenance, his life-span, his deeds, and whether he will be wretched or fortunate. By the One besides Whom there is none other worthy of worship! One of you will perform deeds of the people of Paradise till only a cubit separates him from it when what is decreed will overtake him and he will do deeds of the people of the fire and he will enter it. And one of you will do deeds of the people of the fire till there is not but a cubit between him and it when he will do a deed of those worthy of Paradise and will enter it.'”

Then there is a summary at the end of them, there will never be an increase in them, or a decrease from them ever.' The companions asked: 'So why (we should perform) deeds O Apostle of Allah ﷺ! Since the matter is already decided (and over)?'
