Sayings of the Messenger احادیثِ رسول اللہ ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَمَانٍ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَنْ طَافَ بِالبَيْتِ خَمْسِينَ مَرَّةً خَرَجَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ كَيَوْمِ وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ.

Ibn Abbas (RA) said: "Whoever makes Tawaf around the House for fifty time, he will come out of his sins as (he was on) the day his mother gave birth to him."

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ، قَالَ: كَانُوا يَعُدُّونَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ أَبِيهِ، وَلِعَبْدِ اللهِ أَخٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ: عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ وَقَدْ رَوَى عَنْهُ أَيْضًا.

Ayyub As-Sakhtiyani said: "People used to consider Abdullah the son of Sa'eed bin Jubair more excellent than his father, and he had a brother named Abdul-Malik bin Sa'eed bin Jubair who also reported from him."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمَّارٍ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالاَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بَابَاهَ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: يَا بَنِي عَبْدِ مَنَافٍ، لاَ تَمْنَعُوا أَحَدًا طَافَ بِهَذَا البَيْتِ، وَصَلَّى أَيَّةَ سَاعَةٍ شَاءَ مِنْ لَيْلٍ أَوْ نَهَارٍ.

Narrated from Jubair bin Mut'im (RA) that the Prophet ﷺ said: "O Banu Abd Manaf! Do not stop anyone who wants to make Tawaf around this House, and offer Salah, whichever hour of the night or day he likes."

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُصْعَبٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ، قِرَاءَةً، عَنْ عَبْدِ العَزِيزِ بْنِ عِمْرَانَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَرَأَ فِي رَكْعَتَيِ الطَّوَافِ بِسُورَتَيِ الْإِخْلاَصِ: قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الكَافِرُونَ، وَقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ.

Narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah (RA) that during the two Rak'ah of Tawaf, Allah’s Apostle ﷺ used to recite the two Surat of sincerity, "Say: O you disbelievers!" and: "Say: He is Allah, (the) One."

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَسْتَحِبُّ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ فِي رَكْعَتَيِ الطَّوَافِ بِقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الكَافِرُونَ، وَقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ.

Ja'far bin Muhammad reported from his father that for the two Rak'ah of Tawaf he considered it recommended to recite: Say: "O you disbelievers!" and: Say: "He is Allah, (the) One."

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أُثَيْعٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَلِيًّا بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ بُعِثْتَ؟ قَالَ: بِأَرْبَعٍ: لاَ يَدْخُلُ الجَنَّةَ إِلاَّ نَفْسٌ مُسْلِمَةٌ، وَلاَ يَطُوفُ بِالبَيْتِ عُرْيَانٌ، وَلاَ يَجْتَمِعُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَالمُشْرِكُونَ بَعْدَ عَامِهِمْ هَذَا، وَمَنْ كَانَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَهْدٌ فَعَهْدُهُ إِلَى مُدَّتِهِ، وَمَنْ لاَ مُدَّةَ لَهُ فَأَرْبَعَةُ أَشْهُرٍ.

Zaid bin Uthai said: "I asked Ali (RA): "With what you were sent with (by the Prophet on Hajj)?" He replied: "With four commandments: No one will enter the Paradise except a Muslim. No one will make the Tawaf around the House while naked. The Muslims and the idolaters will not be gathering (in Makkah for Hajj) together after this year. And for whomever there is a covenant between him and the Prophet ﷺ, then his covenant is (valid) until its term, and for that in which there was no term, then it shall be four months."

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، وَنَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالاَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ نَحْوَهُ، وَقَالاَ زَيْدُ بْنُ يُثَيْعٍ وَهَذَا أَصَحُّ.

Ibn Abu Umar (RA) and Nasr ibn Ali said: " Sufyan bin Uyaynah narrated from Abu Ishaq a Hadith like it and they said that the name Zayd ibn Yathi’ is more correct.

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ عِنْدِي وَهُوَ قَرِيرُ العَيْنِ، طَيِّبُ النَّفْسِ، فَرَجَعَ إِلَيَّ وَهُوَ حَزِينٌ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي دَخَلْتُ الكَعْبَةَ، وَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي لَمْ أَكُنْ فَعَلْتُ، إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ أَكُونَ أَتْعَبْتُ أُمَّتِي مِنْ بَعْدِي.

Aishah (RA) said: "The Prophet ﷺ left me while he had a joyous look of contentment and he returned to me grieving. So, I asked him about that and he said: 'I entered the Ka'bah, and I wished that I had not done it. I fear that I have put my Ummah in inconvenience after me.'"

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ بِلاَلٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى فِي جَوْفِ الكَعْبَةِ.قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: لَمْ يُصَلِّ وَلَكِنَّهُ كَبَّرَ.

Ibn Umar (RA) narrated from Bilal (RA) that the Prophet ﷺ offered Salah in the interior of the Ka'bah." And Ibn Abbas (RA) said: "He did not offer Salah in it, rather he said the Takbir."

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، أَنَّ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ لَهُ: حَدِّثْنِي بِمَا كَانَتْ تُفْضِي إِلَيْكَ أُمُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَعْنِي عَائِشَةَ، فَقَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهَا: لَوْلاَ أَنَّ قَوْمَكِ حَدِيثُو عَهْدٍ بِالجَاهِلِيَّةِ، لَهَدَمْتُ الكَعْبَةَ، وَجَعَلْتُ لَهَا بَابَيْنِ قَالَ: فَلَمَّا مَلَكَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ هَدَمَهَا وَجَعَلَ لَهَا بَابَيْنِ.

Al-Aswad bin Yazid narrated that Ibn Az-Zubair (RA) said to him: "Narrate to me from what the Mother of the Believers used to (secretly) inform you about" - meaning Aishah (RA) - so he said: "She narrated to me that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: 'Had your people not been very recent to the pre-Islamic period of ignorance, then I would have demolished the Ka'bah and rebuild it with two doors.'" He said: "So when Ibn Az-Zubair (RA) came to power he demolished it and rebuilt it with two doors."

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ العَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: كُنْتُ أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَدْخُلَ البَيْتَ فَأُصَلِّيَ فِيهِ، فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِي فَأَدْخَلَنِي الحِجْرَ، فَقَالَ: صَلِّي فِي الحِجْرِ إِنْ أَرَدْتِ دُخُولَ البَيْتِ، فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ قِطْعَةٌ مِنَ البَيْتِ، وَلَكِنَّ قَوْمَكِ اسْتَقْصَرُوهُ حِينَ بَنَوْا الكَعْبَةَ فَأَخْرَجُوهُ مِنَ البَيْتِ.

Aishah (RA) said: "I loved to enter the House and offer Salah therein, so Allah’s Apostle ﷺ took me by the hand and entered me in the Hijr (Hateem), and he said: 'Offer Salah in the Hijr if you intend to enter the House. For indeed it is a part of the House, but your people made it small when they rebuilt the Ka'bah and took it outside the House.'"

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: نَزَلَ الحَجَرُ الأَسْوَدُ مِنَ الجَنَّةِ، وَهُوَ أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنَ اللَّبَنِ فَسَوَّدَتْهُ خَطَايَا بَنِي آدَمَ.

Ibn Abbas (RA) narrated that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: "The Black Stone descended from the Paradise, and it was whiter than milk, then the sins of the children of Adam blackened it."

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، عَنْ رَجَاءٍ أَبِي يَحْيَى، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُسَافِعًا الحَاجِبَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ الرُّكْنَ، وَالمَقَامَ يَاقُوتَتَانِ مِنْ يَاقُوتِ الجَنَّةِ، طَمَسَ اللَّهُ نُورَهُمَا، وَلَوْ لَمْ يَطْمِسْ نُورَهُمَا لأَضَاءَتَا مَا بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالمَغْرِبِ.

Abdullah bin Amr (RA) said that he heard Allah’s Apostle ﷺ saying: "Indeed the Corner and the Maqam are two rubies from the rubies of the Paradise. Allah extinguished their lights, and if their lights had not been extinguished then they would have illuminated what is between east and the west."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الأَجْلَحِ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِنًى الظُّهْرَ، وَالعَصْرَ، وَالمَغْرِبَ، وَالعِشَاءَ، وَالفَجْرَ، ثُمَّ غَدَا إِلَى عَرَفَاتٍ.

Ibn Abbas (RA) said: " Allah’s Apostle ﷺ led us in Salah at Mina for Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr, then he left in the morning to Arafat."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الأَجْلَحِ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنِ الحَكَمِ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى بِمِنًى الظُّهْرَ وَالفَجْرَ، ثُمَّ غَدَا إِلَى عَرَفَاتٍ.

Narrated from Ibn Abbas (RA) that the Prophet ﷺ offered Zuhr and Fajr in Mina, then in the morning he left for Arafat.
