Sayings of the Messenger احادیثِ رسول اللہ ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُبَيْدٍ وَهُوَ عَبْثَرُ بْنُ القَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ، عَنِ الحَسَنِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي العَاصِ، قَالَ: إِنَّ مِنْ آخِرِ مَا عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَنْ اتَّخِذْ مُؤَذِّنًا لاَ يَأْخُذُ عَلَى أَذَانِهِ أَجْرًا.

Uthman bin Abi Al-As (RA) said: “Indeed, the last command of Allah's Apostle ﷺ for me was to appoint a Mu’addhin who would not seek a wage for his Adhan."

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ الحُكَيْمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يَسْمَعُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ: وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولاً، وَبِالإِسْلاَمِ دِينًا، غُفِرَ لَهُ ذَنْبُهُ.

Narrated from Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (RA) that Allah's Apostle ﷺ said: "Whoever says, when he hears the Mu’addhin: ‘And I also bear witness that there is no God but Allah, the One. He has no partner. And that Muhammad ﷺ is His slave and His Messenger. I am pleased with Allah as my Lord and with Islam as religion and with Muhammad ﷺ as a messenger.' Allah will pardon his sins for him."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ عَسْكَرٍ البَغْدَادِيُّ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، قَالاَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يَسْمَعُ النِّدَاءَ: اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هَذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ، وَالصَّلاَةِ القَائِمَةِ، آتِ مُحَمَّدًا الوَسِيلَةَ وَالفَضِيلَةَ، وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا الَّذِي وَعَدْتَهُ، إِلاَّ حَلَّتْ لَهُ الشَّفَاعَةُ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ.

Narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah (RA) that Allah's Apostle ﷺ said: "Whoever says, when he hears the Adhan: 'O Allah! Lord of this perfect call and of the Salah that is established, grant Muhammad ﷺ Al-Wasilah and Al-Fadilah, and raise him to the praised position which you have promised him' - then on the Day of Resurrection my intercession is made lawful for him."

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، وَأَبُو أَحْمَدَ، وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالُوا: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ زَيْدٍ العَمِّيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: الدُّعَاءُ لاَ يُرَدُّ بَيْنَ الأَذَانِ وَالإِقَامَةِ.

Anas bin Malik (RA) said: “Allah's Apostle ﷺ said: "The supplication made between the Adhan and Iqamah is not rejected."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: فُرِضَتْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِهِ الصَّلَوَاتُ خَمْسِينَ، ثُمَّ نُقِصَتْ حَتَّى جُعِلَتْ خَمْسًا، ثُمَّ نُودِيَ: يَا مُحَمَّدُ، إِنَّهُ لاَ يُبَدَّلُ القَوْلُ لَدَيَّ، وَإِنَّ لَكَ بِهَذِهِ الخَمْسِ خَمْسِينَ.

Anas bin Malik (RA) said: "On the Night of Isra (m’iraj), fifty Salah’s were made obligatory upon the Prophet ﷺ. Then it was reduced until it was made five. Then it was pronounced: 'O Muhammad! ﷺ Indeed My Word does not change; you will be rewarded fifty (Salah) for these five.’"

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنِ العَلاَءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: الصَّلَوَاتُ الخَمْسُ، وَالجُمُعَةُ إِلَى الجُمُعَةِ، كَفَّارَاتٌ لِمَا بَيْنَهُنَّ، مَا لَمْ تُغْشَ الكَبَائِرُ.

Narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that Allah's Apostle ﷺ said: "The five Salah and Al-Jumu’ah (the Friday prayer) from one to another are expiation for what is in between them, as long as the major sins have not been committed."

Ibn Umar (RA) narrated that Allah's Apostle ﷺ said: "Salah in congregation is twenty-seven ranks more excellent than a man's individual Salah."‏

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُوسَى الأَنْصَارِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: إِنَّ صَلاَةَ الرَّجُلِ فِي الجَمَاعَةِ تَزِيدُ عَلَى صَلاَتِهِ وَحْدَهُ بِخَمْسَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ جُزْءًا.

Narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that Allah's Apostle ﷺ said: "Indeed the reward of a man's Salah in the congregation is twenty-five extra portions of rewards than his Salah alone."

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بُرْقَانَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الأَصَمِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ فِتْيَتِي أَنْ يَجْمَعُوا حُزَمَ الحَطَبِ، ثُمَّ آمُرَ بِالصَّلاَةِ فَتُقَامَ، ثُمَّ أُحَرِّقَ عَلَى أَقْوَامٍ لاَ يَشْهَدُونَ الصَّلاَةَ.

Narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Indeed I had planned to order my young men to gather bundles of firewood, then order Salah which will be then held, then I would burn (the homes) of the people who do not attend the Salah."

قَالَ مُجَاهِدٌ، وَسُئِلَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ يَصُومُ النَّهَارَ وَيَقُومُ اللَّيْلَ، لاَ يَشْهَدُ جُمْعَةً وَلاَ جَمَاعَةً؟ فَقَالَ: هُوَ فِي النَّارِ.

Mujahid said: "Ibn Abbas (RA) was asked about a man who fasted during the day and stood (in prayers) during the night, but he did neither attend the Friday prayer nor congregational prayer. He replied: 'He is in the Fire.'"

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: شَهِدْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَجَّتَهُ، فَصَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ صَلاَةَ الصُّبْحِ فِي مَسْجِدِ الخَيْفِ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلاَتَهُ انْحَرَفَ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِرَجُلَيْنِ فِي أُخْرَى القَوْمِ لَمْ يُصَلِّيَا مَعَهُ، فَقَالَ: عَلَيَّ بِهِمَا، فَجِيءَ بِهِمَا تُرْعَدُ فَرَائِصُهُمَا، فَقَالَ: مَا مَنَعَكُمَا أَنْ تُصَلِّيَا مَعَنَا، فَقَالاَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّا كُنَّا قَدْ صَلَّيْنَا فِي رِحَالِنَا، قَالَ: فَلاَ تَفْعَلاَ، إِذَا صَلَّيْتُمَا فِي رِحَالِكُمَا ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُمَا مَسْجِدَ جَمَاعَةٍ فَصَلِّيَا مَعَهُمْ، فَإِنَّهَا لَكُمَا نَافِلَةٌ.

Jabir bin Yazid bin Al-Aswad Al-Amiri narrated that his father said: "I witnessed Hajj with the Prophet ﷺ. I prayed the morning (Fajr) Salah with him in Masjid AI-Khaif." He (Jabir) said: "When the Prophet ﷺ finished his Salah, he turned (from the Qiblah) and observed two men at the back of the people who had not prayed with him. He said, 'Bring them to me.' So they were brought while they were trembling with fear. He said: 'What prevented you from praying with us?" They said: 'O Messenger of Allah! ﷺ We prayed at our camp.' So he said: 'Do not do that; when you pray in your camp then you come to a Masjid with a congregation, so pray with them. That will be a voluntary prayer for you.'"

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ النَّاجِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُتَوَكِّلِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ وَقَدْ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: أَيُّكُمْ يَتَّجِرُ عَلَى هَذَا؟، فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَصَلَّى مَعَهُ.

Abu Sa'eed (RA) narrated: that a man came when Allah's Apostle ﷺ had already prayed, so he said: “which of you will give some reward to this person?' So a man stood to pray with him."
